Being a single child

I am my parent’s only daughter and besides the love and adoration I have received from them, I have also received something else from people—several remarks. Must be a pampered child, must be a spoilt brat, etc etc and many more similar words all meaning the same were the remarks I have received till now for being a single daughter of my parents.
Majority of people have this misconception that every single child must be a pampered one and they expect brattiest behaviour from him/her. But this is for all those who think the same…you think absolutely wrong!!! Every child is special to parents, and if one is single, the things may get more uneasy because all the attention goes to that one single child-that means whatever good or bad one does, he/she would always be noticed by all. The person becomes the center of attraction. And considering the same, every single child has more responsibilities than the one who is having a sibling. For example, if you are a girl child, you have to do everything that is expected from a daughter and at the same time you have to do everything that is expected from a son, because somehow, you are also challenging the world that daughters are nothing less than sons.

Extra love would mean extra scolding too. Extra privileges would mean extra restriction as well. So this is for all those who think their life is miserable because they have siblings and could have been better if you would have been the only one, things are same for all and so is the love of parents.
